About the Course

Diversity & Inclusion Basics

Creating a genuinely inclusive workplace starts with understanding the fundamentals. This practical, thought-provoking course is designed for anyone at any level who wants to build a better awareness of diversity, inclusion, bias, and identity, and understand how these factors influence behaviour and decision-making in the workplace.

Whether you're new to these concepts or looking to refresh your knowledge, this course creates an engaging space to reflect, learn and take meaningful steps forward.

What’s covered

  • Explore the difference between diversity and inclusion, and why both matter.

  • Understand how stereotypes and biases impact behaviour, team dynamics and decision-making.

  • Recognise how unconscious bias can show up in our day-to-day work, even with the best intentions.

  • Identify common biases such as confirmation bias, affinity bias, and more.

  • Reflect on your own identity and experiences, assessing how privilege and vulnerability shape your worldview.

  • Take part in guided self-assessment to increase awareness of personal bias and areas for growth.

What you will gain

  • A solid understanding of D&I foundations, tailored to real workplace situations.

  • Awareness of how bias operates, in yourself and in systems around you.

  • The confidence to begin applying inclusive practices in your own role and teams.

  • A respectful, judgment-free space to reflect and grow.
